Aboveground liquid storage tanks are often found on weak compressive soil due to their proximity harbours and rivers. These conditions lead a high probability of significant soil-structure interaction (SSI) under earthquake loading. In strong earthquakes, the transient partial separation tank base from supporting medium (uplift) chaotic sloshing cause damage wall. This experimental research determines simultaneous effects SSI restriction development hoop axial stresses in A low-density polyethylene with two different foundation conditions, that is rigid flexible, was tested using shake table. high-density foam floating lid utilised as barrier enabling evaluation contribution wall stress development.
